Armenia PM, wife host world-famous conductor George Pehlivanian, people’s artist of Russia Georgi Isahakyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, along with his wife Anna Hakobyan, hosted world-renowned conductor George Pehlivanian, renowned stage director and Russian Federation People’s Artist Georgi Isahakyan, and State Philharmonic of Armenia Director Gagik Manasyan. They discussed the preparations for and organizing of staging the Armenian King Tigranes the Great Opera by 18th-century German composer Johann Adolph Hasse, Anna Hakobyan’s office informed. “I generally believe that there should be operas about all our kings, because each and every idea related to kings is an idea of the state, since they are symbols of statehood,” Pashinyan said, and welcomed the idea of staging this opera.

By preliminary agreement, this opera will be staged in the Fall 2020.
