Anna Hakobyan

Anna Hakobyan was born on February 1, 1978, in Yerevan. She is a graduate of the Yerevan State University, Faculty of Journalism. Giving importance to continuous education, Anna Hakobyan completed a number of courses at The American University in 2001. While practicing journalism, she participated in various education courses in Armenia and abroad to advance her journalistic skills and abilities.

In 2003-2008, Hakobyan worked as a journalist in “Haykakan Zhamanak” daily newspaper, elucidated the spheres of domestic and foreign policy.

Since 2013, Anna Hakobyan has assumed the position of editor-in-chief of “Haykakan Zhamanak” newspaper.

Being an active public figure, Anna Hakobyan frequently participated in various events in the country and was vocal both as a journalist and a public figure.

After The Velvet Revolution in Armenia on May 8, 2018, when Nikol Pashinyan was elected the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Anna Hakobyan expanded her scope of activities as the First Lady of the country.

In 2018-2020, she was the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “City of Smile” charitable foundation.

Since 2018, Anna Hakobyan has been the Chair of the Board of Trustees of the “My Step” foundation.

Hakobyan is the initiator of the “Women for Peace” campaign.

Anna Hakobyan has four children: three daughters and a son.
