On July 12, at the invitation of the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Executive Director of the “My Step” Charitable Foundation Anna Hakobyan, diplomats accredited to Armenia paid a visit to the Foundation’s office where they were introduced to the completed, ongoing and to-be-implemented programs.
Anna Hakobyan expressed gratitude to the attendees for accepting the invitation and shared the vision, mission and results of activities of the Foundation. “Help a person rise and let him stay on his own two feet — the “My Step” Charitable Foundation stays true to this philosophy and this exceptional humanitarian mission,” Anna Hakobyan stressed.
“Since its establishment in 2018, the “My Step” Foundation has organized, developed and implemented long-term development programs in the areas of education, professional orientation, science, technology, socio-economic development and professional orientation for persons with disabilities across the country, and these areas serve as the main pillars for achieving the Foundation’s strategic goals. The Foundation is focused on human capital development in Armenia so that every individual becomes self-sufficient and has a dignified life, which will have a great positive impact,” the Executive Director said as she briefly presented the Foundation’s mission.
Anna Hakobyan underscored the fact that diplomats can play a major role in multiplying the efforts made by the Foundation.
“As ambassadors, you hold a unique and influential position in terms of international partnership and the promotion of cultural understanding, and your impact can have a greater influence by raising the level of awareness and contributing to partnership with like-minded organizations and interested parties in your respective countries through the use of your platforms, contacts and diplomatic circles. Your support in the mobilization of resources may help essentially increase our capacities to implement our mission, be it through funding, real investments or exchange of specialists and experience,” Anna Hakobyan stressed.
“The impact of ambassadors may help establish a policy that promotes inclusiveness, accessibility and the rights of vulnerable communities and groups, ensuring sustainable and systemic changes. The “My Step” Foundation adheres to its goals and is prospering due to the support and trust of partners, friends, individual donors and like-minded organizations and funds and foundations,” the Executive Director emphasized in her remarks.
“Through charity, we can combine our resources, experience and energy to resist the challenges. In this act of serving people, we not only find the path to improvement of the quality of life of others, but also enrich our own lives and build a more sympathetic society,” Anna Hakobyan remarked.
After her welcoming remarks, Deputy Director of the “My Step” Foundation for Programs and External Relations Talin Topalakian presented to the guests the “Quanta” Master’s Degree Program in Quantum and Mesoscopic Physics, the Program for Discovering the Professional Potential of War Participants and the “Support from Successful Businesswomen to Novice Businesswomen” initiative, as a result of which 42 novice businesswomen have already received financial assistance in the amount of AMD 1,000,000 each.
Talin Topalakian also told the guests about two programs that are currently in the stage of development and implementation. The first is the program for the establishment of the “Tshakhruk” social coffeehouse, the employees of which will be young persons with features of physical and mental health. As a result, they will have more interaction with the public, and it will have a huge psychological impact. The second program is also a social one. It is planned to repair the building of the “Salvation” Center, which is in poor condition and which is a place for adults with features of physical and mental health.
After the presentation, the diplomats held direct talks with Anna Hakobyan, the Foundation’s Deputy Directors and program directors and were introduced to the current programs in more detail. After the interactions, new terms of partnership were predetermined with the ambassadors of certain countries who promised to share information about the initiatives in their respective countries and assist in their implementation.
Among the attendees of the event were the ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions from 15 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and North and South Americas.
