On 10 June, Executive Director of the “My Step” Charitable Foundation Anna Hakobyan had a meeting with servicemen who had received injuries and acquired disabilities during the 44-day war. Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan and Mrs. Anna Hakobyan had met with the servicemen at the end of the previous year.
The Program for Discovering the Professional Potential of War Participants, which is being carried out by the “My Step” Foundation, was discussed during the meeting. The aim of the Program, methods for implementation and the upcoming activities were explained to the servicemen. “The Foundation has set the goal to support, by promoting the motivation to work, the social-economic re-integration into society of the servicemen who acquired disabilities as a result of the war. When the Program ends, the servicemen have sustainable sources of income, enter the labor market and start doing business, and this allows them to become self-sufficient,” the Head of the Program remarked. The servicemen shared their recommendations for increasing effectiveness of the Program and raising awareness.
During the meeting, the servicemen also raised their issues of concern and considered the paths to find solutions to them. The parties agreed to organize such discussions on a regular basis, allowing the Foundation to identify the problems facing the servicemen having acquired disabilities as a result of the war and provide solutions to the problems through the Foundation’s programs in the future.
