On March 29, the Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan was present at the performance of the beneficiaries from the Prkutyun center for disabled youth. Deputy mayor of Yerevan Sargis Madatyan, head of Shengavit administrative district Razmik Mkrtchyan also attended the event.

The Holy Resurrection – Easter was the theme of the performance. The students of the center staged pieces from the Bible, during which they were telling about the resurrection of Jesus Christ. After the performance, the students also performed dance numbers. One of the beneficiaries, 43-year-old Alik, gave one of his paintings to Anna Hakobyan.

After the presentation, the Prime Minister’s wife, accompanied by the head of the organization, Arpine Abrahamyan, toured the center and familiarized herself with the amenities.

The center has groups for dance, painting, pottery, macrame, aesthetic design, puppetry, and a dental clinic for the beneficiaries. Special pedagogues, a special psychologist, a speech therapist also work with the beneficiaries, the head of the center said.

Edgar has exceptional abilities. When saying the date of any month, he is able to count and tell what day of the week it is and when that date will be on that same day of the week again. Edgar has Asperger’s Syndrome and has advanced numeracy.

Prkutyun center for disabled youth has been operating for 25 years, has 400 beneficiaries from all regions of Armenia. Daycare and social rehabilitation service is provided for 67 beneficiaries every day.
