On June 27, Mrs. Anna Hakobyan met with the executive director of Europol, Catherine de Bolle. Tigran Balayan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, was also present at the meeting.
Europol, as a law enforcement body supports its member states in preventing and combating all forms of serious international and organized crimes, cybercrimes and terrorism.
Prime Minister’s wife Anna Hakobyan presented to Catherine de Bolle the details of the international summit entitled “The role of women leaders in promoting democracy, peace and security” to be held in Yerevan on October 19-20.
According to Anna Hakobyan, nowadays there are wars in different parts of the world, and the probability of starting military operations in other regions is high. Taking this into account, it is necessary for women in high positions to unite their efforts, find solution and make the world safer place for people.
The upcoming summit in Yerevan will differ from others since only women will participate in the event, the platform will be used to exchange ideas, analyze, highlight the existing dangers and fight against them.
During the meeting, Anna Hakobyan and Catherine de Bolle also highlighted the increase of women’s involvement in saving children’s lives, noting the fact that hundreds of children have died during wars in recent years, which is inexcusable.
The Prime Minister’s wife also presented the details on involvement of women in the patrol service in Armenia, the policy adopted by the government, according to which more women will be hired to fill the vacancies.
Anna Hakobyan invited Catherine de Bolle to participate in the summit to be held in Yerevan and suggested that all guests would arrive in Armenia not for 2, but for 4 days in order to have time to participate in cultural programs and enjoy Armenia.
Catherine de Bolle noted that the initiative is very interesting and important, expressed confidence that the summit will be very fruitful. Catherine de Bolle said she would do her best to attend the event.
